Plesk: Set Fitur Fail2ban

One of the security features in Plesk is Fail2ban. This feature is useful for blocking certain IPs that attack your server or bruteforce your server. It is very mandatory to turn on this feature.


Fail2ban can be activated in Tools & Settings > Security > IP Address Banning (Fail2Ban)


Enabling the Fail2ban Feature

  • Go to Tools & Settings > Security > IP Address Banning
  • Select the Settings tab
  • Make sure to check Enable intrusion detection
  • Set the blocking time according to your taste. By default 10 minutes/600 seconds.
  • Set the number of times the tolerance fails before blocking (Number of failures...). By default is 5.
  • Then click OK


View Fail2ban Blacklisted IPs

  • Go to Tools & Settings > Security > IP Address Banning
  • click Banned IP Addresses


How to Whitelist IPs that are Blacklisted by Fail2ban

  • Go to Tools & Settings > Security > IP Address Banning
  • click Trusted IP Addresses > Add Trusted IP
  • Enter the IP to be added
  • click OK
