1. Select Forgot password
If the "Enter password" window is still open select Forgot password?
Otherwise, select Reset password below, enter the username for the account you want to reset, and then select Next .
2. Verify your identity
For your protection, Microsoft must verify your identity before you can proceed with resetting your password.
Select how you want to receive the verification code.
Important:
If you don't see any code submission destination options, or you no longer have access to any of the verification options displayed, use this login tool.
If you don't recognize any of the email or phone verification options, use the login tool.
Select Next.
3. Get verification code
For your protection, we will ask you to confirm your chosen verification details.
Depending on the contact method you choose, retype the first part of the email address or the last four digits of the phone number shown in the previous window.
Choose Get code.
Microsoft will send a verification code to your selected email or phone number.
Go to the recovery phone or email where you want to receive the code.
4. Enter the code and reset the password
Confirm the code to create a new password.
Paste or type the code you received and select Next .
