Guide to Solving Outlook that Always Asks for Password

We divide this guide into three sections as follows.

1. Configure Outlook if you are using Gmail.

2. Configure Outlook if you are using Mail Hosting.

3. Delete the Protect folder on your computer.

1. Outlook Configuration When Using Gmail

Please perform the following steps if you are using email from Google Mail (Gmail) service provider.

1. Sign in to your Gmail account.

2. Click the Settings button at the top right of the page.

3. Click tombol See all settings.

4. Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.

5. Change the POP download status to Enable Pop for all mail. Next, change the status in the IMAP access section to Enable IMAP.

6. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom to save the configuration.

7. Click on the profile menu at the top right of the page, then click on the Manage your Google Account button.

8. Type "Less secure app access" in the search bar at the top, then click on the search results displayed.

9. Change the configuration to ON like the following example.

10. Press the navigation key again.

11. Scroll down to the Signing in to Google section. Make sure the following two states remain Off.

This configuration change will help your Microsoft Outlook not ask for password authentication constantly.

2. Outlook Configuration If You're Using Mail Hosting

Please follow these steps if you are using Mail Hosting services.

1. Login to the Niagahoster Member Area. Select the Your Services menu on the left, then click the Hosting submenu.

2. Click the Manage Hosting button on your active hosting plan.

3. Buka tab cPanel, kemudian klik menu Email Account.

4.  Anda akan diarahkan ke halaman cPanel seperti contoh berikut. Klik tombol Manage pada akun email Anda.

5. Masukkan kata sandi baru untuk akun email Anda.

6. Gulir ke bagian bawah, kemudian klik tombol Update Email Settings.

7. Masuk ke aplikasi Microsoft Outlook milik Anda. Klik menu File pada bagian atas.

8. Pilih konfigurasi Account Settings.

9. Pilih akun email Anda kemudian masukkan ulang kata sandi dan tekan tombol Next.

Kata sandi atau password yang telah Anda perbarui pada konfigurasi Outlook ini akan membuat aplikasi tidak menanyakan ulang password secara terus-menerus.


3. Hapus Folder Protect pada Komputer

Cara yang terakhir, adalah Anda dapat menghapus folder bernama protect yang terdapat di dalam Drive C pada komputer.

1. Buka File Explorer pada Windows Anda. Masuk ke Drive C, kemudian buka folder Users.

2. Buka folder dari nama user komputer Anda. Pada contoh ini kami menggunakan komputer dengan nama user Niagahoster.

3. Klik tools View pada bagian atas, kemudian arahkan ke menu Show, berikut klik pada sub menu Hidden items. Perhatikan contoh di bawah ini.

4. File yang disembunyikan oleh sistem akan ditampilkan. Silakan buka folder AppData.

5. Buka folder Roaming.

6. Buka folder Microsoft.

7. Hapus folder Protect.

Setelah folder Protect dihapus, silakan Anda buka kembali aplikasi Microsoft Outlook. Umumnya Anda tidak akan menemui kendala outlook yang selalu meminta autentikasi kata sandi atau password.
