Login to the user mail web application.
Hover over and click on the "Settings" option on the gear-like icon.
You will see a drop down appear. Hover over "Preferences"
Click on the "Mail" menu.
Click the "Delete and Move Messages" option.
Check the box "Move deleted messages to your Trash Mailbox instead of marking them as deleted in the current Mailbox?" and click "'Save".
