Reset Admin Password in WordPress

There are times when we need to update our WordPress Admin password to keep it safe.


Reset from WordPress


If you want to do a reset from the WordPress interface, it's easy. Login to your WordPress admin account domain.com/wp-admin then Users > All Users.


Select the user whose password will be reset. Click Edit.



Then scroll down and find Account Management. Then click Generate Password.



Reset from phpmyadmin


Step 1: Log into your cPanel account.
Step 2: On the Database menu, click phpMyAdmin.
Step 3: Click on the database name on the left panel.
Step 4: Click on the wp_users table.
Step 5: Click Edit next to the WordPress Admin user.



Step 6: In the user_pass field, paste your new password. Select MD5 as the option and click Go.
