Here is a guide to migrating WordPress with the All in One WP Migration plugin. Make sure that this plugin is installed on your WordPress, or please follow this guide to install the plugin:
Step 1. Install Plugin All in One WP Migration
- Log in to your site's WP-Admin Dashboard.
- Select "Plugins > Add New" from the left menu.
- Search for "All in one WP Migration" in the top right search bar, then click "Install Now".
- Click "Activate" to activate the plugin.
Step 2. How to Migrate WordPress
If you have installed the plugin, then you can export and import the WordPress migration. The steps are as follows:
Export Backup
- Open the wp-admin dashboard on the website to be migrated, click All-in-One WP Migration -> Export.
- Click Export to and select the File option from the drop-down menu.
- export your website and select files
- Wait for the export process to finish. After that, download your website file through the popup window.
Import Backup
Once you have a backup of the data, you can import the backup to the new website. Here are the steps.
- Go to your new website dashboard and select Import under the All-in-One WP Migration menu.
- Click Import from and select File. Then, locate the file you want to export.
- click import form
- After completing this process, click Finish.
The last step of using the plugin is to re-save your permalink structure. You will need to change the structure twice as it will recreate your .htaccess file:
- From the sidebar menu, select Settings -> Permalinks.
- Select the new structure and click Save Changes. If you are using a Custom Structure, make sure to copy it first.
- Reload to the Permalinks settings page and select your orignal structure. Click Save Changes after completing the process.
