How do I Clear DNS Cache in Windows?

DNS propagation usually takes between 1-24 hours to complete. But there are several things that can be done to speed up the process. One of them is to Clear DNS Cache for those of you who use the Windows operating system.


First Method: Clear Cache


Make sure you run the cmd prompt which can be accessed from :


Search> cmd or Start> cmd


Then type: ipconfig /flushdns

Then press Enter to process the query.


In some cases, some computers / laptops require Administrator privileges to run the command. Make sure you check with your local IT team first for Administrator access.


Second way: Restart Router & Computer


This next method is the easiest way, because you only need to restart the hardware. Such as a computer, modem or router. Usually, this method is more effective than the first method given.


The restart process through a computer / laptop by way of :


Start > Restart / Reboot > yes


As for restarting a modem / router of the same type by turning it ON / OFF only.
