Scammers send fake "your service has been suspended" emails to create panic and trick you into clicking malicious links or handing over login details. Do not click anything in the email. Follow the steps below to verify safely.
Red Flags to Look For
- Urgent/threatening language ("Account suspended," "Act now or lose access")
- Generic greetings ("Dear Customer") instead of your name
- Sender address that doesn't match the official company domain (check carefully — scammers use lookalike domains)
- Links that don't point to the official website (hover over them without clicking to preview)
- Requests for passwords, payment details, or personal information
- Spelling/grammar mistakes, odd formatting, or blurry logos
- Attachments you weren't expecting (e.g., "invoice.pdf," .zip, .html files)
Step-by-Step: How to Check (Without Clicking Anything)
Step 1 — Stop. Don't click.
Do not click links, buttons, attachments, or "unsubscribe" options in the email.
Step 2 — Don't reply.
Replying confirms your email address is active to scammers.
Step 3 — Verify independently.
Open a new browser window and type the official website address yourself (or use your saved bookmark/app). Log in to your account directly — never through the email.
Step 4 — Check your account status there.
If your service were truly suspended, you'd see it after logging in directly, or receive a notification inside the official app/website.
Step 5 — Verify the sender (no clicking needed).
Check the full sender email address. A genuine email from us must come from the domain @exabytes.co.id — not a lookalike domain (e.g., exabytes-id.com, exabytes.co, exabytes-support.net, etc.).
Step 6 — Check the email signature/footer.
A legitimate email should include the company name PT. EXABYTES NETWORK INDONESIA in the footer. Check that the footer also shows the name Sarah as Global Account Executive. Missing or different details are a warning sign.
Step 7 — Contact us directly.
Use the phone number or support chat from the official website — not from the email — to confirm whether the message is real.
Step 8 — Delete or report.
Once confirmed as a scam, delete the email (or report it as phishing in your email client). Don't forward it to others.
If You're Not Sure — Send It to Us
If you're unsure whether an email is genuine:
- Forward the email to us as an attachment, or
- Send us a screenshot of the email (include the sender address and subject line)
⚠️ Please do not click any links or open attachments before sending it to us.
If You Already Clicked or Entered Details
- Change your password immediately (from the official website, on a different device if possible).
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) if not already on.
- Check your account for unauthorized activity.
- If you entered payment details, contact your bank/card provider right away.
- Run a malware scan on your device.
- Report the incident to us.
Remember
- Legitimate companies never ask for your password by email.
- Real suspension notices appear inside your account, not only via email links.
- Genuine Exabytes emails come from
@exabytes.co.id, with PT. EXABYTES NETWORK INDONESIA and Sarah (Global Account Executive) in the footer. - When in doubt, don't click — verify through the official app or website.
